Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first single, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued posting her music online including her self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna was signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video then released in September. In November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles, titled No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was made available for the track. The track has received over 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
